Uncle Rene is a film that follows my uncle around during the last half hour of his shift as a Janitor at UCLA. For the past 35 years or so, my Uncle has cleaned the Art building on campus. I study in the same buildings he cleans with such care.

Premiered as part of a survey exhibition of
Micah Lexier’s work at the Power Plant in Toronto in 2013, this work explores the concepts of collecting and ordering that ran throughout the exhibition, using a collection of found materials. Micah Lexier is a Canadian artist and curator, living and working in Toronto.
